Review of trial facial treatment at Shakura
Dear diary,
Previously I signed up for facial package with Coslab at Admiralty station for a total of $1k++ for 10 sessions and I renewed the package for a total of 3 times.
I enjoyed being attended by my beautician, Fion, whom I decided to remain with her throughout the package that I purchased. Honestly, I felt that it is really worth the price I paid for. The package I signed up for including head and shoulder massage as well. On average I will spend up to 2 hours per treatment.
The services and treatment given had been consistent and satisfying, hence, the decision to renew the package up to 3 times.
Subsequently, my skin got better and I decided not to renew the package after the 3rd time.
Moving forward I am still contemplating to try other facial parlor. I am hoping to remove my acne scars and after conducting some research, I decided to try Shakura at Lot 1.
I was welcomed by the staff who directed me to the consultation room. Subsequently, another staff attended to me who did the consultation and breakdown of prices.
The trial cost $48. The staff offered $688 for 3 sessions. Subsequently, she offered to offset $48 and quoted $640 for 4 sessions with additional inner layer treatment. There's also another option of $2188 for 10 sessions.
However, when I clarified if there will be any differences to the treatment given based on the different prices quoted, the staff mentioned treatment will be the same as today.
The treatment wise, started with facial wash, softening face mask, extraction, another mask, followed by application of their serum(maybe) follows by the face massage. The beautician(Amber) proposed to do half of my face, followed by showing the before and after results. Followed by treating the other half of the face. Honestly, I don't think this is a good idea because, I can't really feel relax with the short facial massage. So this wasn't satisfying for me. During the treatment also I heard laughters and staffs talking among each other from my room which was quite distracting.
Note: The current condition of my face.
At the end of the session, they brought me again to the consultation room in attempt to negotiate with the quoted package prices. After I informed them that I would require some time to consider before I commit. They started to change their approach.
The staff even asked me if I'm really keen to take up their package, otherwise, she will not waste time to explain more. So this was really a turn off for me. I mentioned that it felt like hard selling for me. She counter my remark and said now is 2026, we don't to hard selling. This is heart selling and she continued to highlight the consequences of my skin if I don't consider for treatment.
She then informed another colleague of my decision and the other colleague attempted to offer another quotation, to offset $300 from the $688 package. However, when I stick to my decision. The staff kept questioning me on my reasons and any clarifications that I need based on my decision.
Again, the colleague also used the same tactics of highlighting how bad my skin was in attempt to buy in my decision.
Honestly, this really puts me off, from initially considering(based on many positive reviews) to totally not interested.
If you have any recommendations, feel free to share please.
Thank you!
Yours truly,
Saf
