A true Singaporean?

What are your views regarding Singaporeans who are not born here but managed to get our citizenhip?

I've been seeing an increasing number of these people around me and it makes me wonder whether do they really want our citizenship because of a sense of belonging here or just for their own benefits?

They can always say or give reasons e.g. They feel a sense of belonging here upon the approval of their citizenship.

Still, how true is it? Will they really stay here if something were to happen to our country? Knowing their roots and most family connection belongs to elsewhere.
